The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has assured Ghanaians that the country’s energy sector remains stable and resilient despite recent intermittent power supply challenges.
Speaking at the Government Accountability Series on Monday, he acknowledged disruptions in electricity supply but emphasised that coordinated efforts are underway to restore and strengthen system reliability.
He revealed that the sector has recently experienced two major operational setbacks affecting power delivery, adding that technical teams are actively working to resolve the issues while ensuring transparency on causes and corrective measures.
Mr. Jinapor maintained that although the incidents have impacted supply, they are being managed with urgency and structured intervention.
He noted that the broader outlook of the sector remains positive, describing current efforts as part of ongoing reforms aimed at improving efficiency and long-term stability.
According to him, some of the challenges stem from historic underinvestment in power infrastructure, which has created existing capacity and reliability gaps.
The Minister expressed confidence that current reforms and strategic interventions will progressively strengthen the sector and improve electricity supply stability across the country.
He assured the public that government remains committed to achieving sustained recovery and securing long-term energy reliability.
