ZEN Petroleum names Mr. Frank Adu as new board chairman.

ZEN Petroleum Limited has appointed veteran corporate executive Mr. Frank Adu as its new Board Chairman, effective January 1, 2026, the company said in a statement issued on Monday. The appointment was announced in Accra and marks a leadership transition at the downstream oil and gas firm.

Mr. Adu succeeds Mr. Tutu Agyare, who is stepping down after nine years as chairman, during which the company recorded steady growth and strengthened its governance and safety culture. ZEN Petroleum said Mr. Agyare’s tenure was instrumental in deepening its focus on people’s development and community impact.

Mr. Adu brings decades of boardroom and executive experience, having served as Managing Director of CAL Bank Plc for 20 years and currently chairing the National Investment Bank. He has also held leadership roles across several corporate and non-profit institutions, including the Ghana Stock Exchange and University of Ghana Enterprises Limited.

The company said his appointment aligns with its long-term strategy of strengthening governance and positioning the business for its next phase of growth. Managing Director William Tewiah said Mr. Adu’s leadership experience would provide continuity while supporting expansion across retail, mining and fuel infrastructure operations.

Beyond the corporate sector, Mr. Adu is active in education, civic initiatives and sports administration, and holds multiple academic and honorary distinctions. As chairman, he is expected to work closely with management to drive operational excellence, safety leadership and sustainable value creation.
