The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) began its annual Executive Committee retreat, aimed at reviewing its 2025 performance and setting strategic priorities for 2026.
The meeting, which started on Monday Jan. 19, brings together senior management to assess operational achievements, identify challenges and chart a path to improve service delivery across Ghana’s petroleum sector.
Opening the retreat, NPA Chief Executive Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo commended staff for what he described as a strong performance in 2025 but urged renewed focus and discipline going into the new year.
Mr. Tameklo said greater collaboration and shared accountability would be critical to delivering better results in 2026, noting that the authority’s success depends on collective effort across directorates.
He stressed that peer review and constructive feedback were essential tools for raising standards and strengthening internal performance.
The retreat is also being used to benchmark results across departments, share best practices and address operational gaps identified over the past year.
According to Mr. Tameklo, such internal reviews are vital to sustaining efficiency and improving regulatory oversight in Ghana’s petroleum industry.
Participants are expected to outline key initiatives for 2026, including stronger regulatory enforcement, improved stakeholder engagement and innovative operational strategies.
The retreat is scheduled to end later this week with an agreed action plan for the coming year.
Mr. Tameklo said the authority was targeting 2026 as a landmark year for performance, professionalism and measurable results.
