GNPC and Halliburton Reinforce Partnership to Tackle Upstream Challenges in Ghana

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and Halliburton have reaffirmed their partnership to enhance Ghana’s oil and gas sector amid declining production levels. During a recent meeting at GNPC’s headquarters in Tema, Acting CEO Kwame Ntow Amoah and Halliburton Senior Area Manager Gary Evans discussed strategies to optimize the country’s hydrocarbon resources.

The collaboration focuses on leveraging advanced technologies and attracting investment to improve operational efficiency and drive exploration. Halliburton aims to deploy its proven exploration tools, such as Next-Gen technology and the Nexus system, which have seen success in other regions.

A significant proposal from GNPC includes the establishment of a Research & Technology Center (RaTC) to enhance local crude oil and gas analysis capabilities. This initiative seeks to reduce reliance on foreign facilities and build local technical expertise. Halliburton has expressed its commitment to providing the necessary technical support for this development.  Both parties are aligned in their vision to strengthen investor confidence and ensure sustainable growth in the upstream industry. This partnership represents a crucial step toward unlocking Ghana’s hydrocarbon potential and revitalizing its energy sector
