Ghana, U.S. Discuss Energy Sector Cooperation

Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, met a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Accra to explore ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the country’s energy sector. The meeting, held in the Ghanaian capital, was led on the U.S. side by Chargé d’Affaires Rolf Olson.

During the talks, both sides reviewed opportunities to deepen the long-standing partnership between Ghana and the United States, particularly in areas that support economic growth and energy stability. Discussions focused on energy transition initiatives, improving the resilience of Ghana’s power sector and advancing sustainable development objectives.

Hon. Jinapor reiterated the government’s commitment to working with international partners to enhance energy security and drive long-term reforms in the sector. The U.S. delegation, in turn, reaffirmed its readiness to support Ghana’s efforts to build a stable and sustainable energy future.
