On June 26, 2025, Petroleum Minister Karim Badwi emphasized the significance of ongoing efforts and coordination between the ministry and relevant agencies in addressing the recent energy crisis. During an inspection of the national natural gas grid’s main control center, operated by GASCO Company in New Cairo City, the minister monitored the gradual resumption of gas supplies to various industrial sectors.
He assured the public of a consistent flow of gas to meet the energy requirements of both the industrial and electricity sectors. The Petroleum Ministry highlighted that Badwi reviewed operational scenarios for the gas grid, ensuring that gas supply to the electricity sector remains steady, especially during the summer months.
This initiative is part of the ministry’s strategy to stabilize energy supplies and support industrial growth in the aftermath of the crisis. By enhancing gas availability, Egypt aims to bolster its domestic market and ensure reliable energy access for critical sectors, marking a proactive step toward energy security and economic resilience
