Bui Power Authority Board Undertakes Four-Day Working Visit to Strengthen Operations and Community Relations

The Board of Directors of the Bui Power Authority (BPA), Ghana’s second-largest state-owned power generation company, embarked on a four-day working tour of the Bui Generating Station (BGS) located in the Savannah and Bono Regions. The visit, aimed at deepening the Board’s understanding of the Authority’s operations, also sought to reinforce collaboration with local communities within the Bui Enclave.

During the tour, the Board paid courtesy calls on the Banda Traditional Council and other key stakeholders to discuss ways of enhancing community partnerships and promoting sustainable development initiatives in the area.

The delegation, led by Ambassador Kwadwo Nyamekye-Marfo, visited several key facilities, including the 404 MW Hydroelectric Plant, the 50 MWp Land-Based Solar Plant, and the 5 MWp Floating Solar Plant. They also inspected ongoing projects such as the 25 MWp Floating Solar Plant and the 100 MWp Land-Based Solar Plant, which reflect BPA’s commitment to expanding Ghana’s renewable energy portfolio.

In addition, the Board reviewed the newly completed staff accommodation facilities and the Multi-Purpose Office Complex, which form part of the Authority’s broader efforts to enhance employee welfare and operational efficiency.

The visit concluded with a staff durbar, where Ambassador Nyamekye-Marfo commended BPA employees for their dedication, professionalism, and contribution to Ghana’s energy development.

He encouraged staff to maintain high standards of innovation, teamwork, and integrity, which he described as essential to sustaining BPA’s leadership in renewable energy generation.

The four-day engagement reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to operational excellence, environmental stewardship, and community inclusion as key pillars driving Ghana’s transition toward clean and sustainable energy.
