Energy Regulation Board has reduced the prices of diesel, kerosene and Jet A-1 fuel for June 2026, while maintaining the pump price of petrol at K27.15 per litre.
Under the latest review, diesel prices have been reduced from K33.99 per litre to K32.11 per litre. Kerosene prices also declined from K35.05 per litre to K33.91 per litre, while Jet A-1 fuel prices were adjusted downward from K37.98 per litre to K36.68 per litre.
The revised prices will remain effective until the next fuel price review cycle.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued by ERB Board Chairperson, James Banda.
According to Mr. Banda, the latest fuel price adjustments were influenced by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which continue to affect international petroleum markets.
He explained that while global petrol prices recorded an increase during the review period, international prices for diesel and kerosene/Jet A-1 products declined.
The average international price of petrol rose from US$119.63 per barrel in the previous pricing window to US$124.24 per barrel. Meanwhile, diesel prices fell from US$195.59 per barrel to US$155.64 per barrel, while kerosene/Jet A-1 prices declined from US$196.56 per barrel to US$155.45 per barrel.
Mr. Banda further noted that the Zambian Kwacha strengthened slightly against the United States dollar during the review period, appreciating from K18.97/US$ to K18.56/US$.
He said the combined impact of movements in global oil prices and exchange rate fluctuations formed the basis for the June 2026 fuel price review.
