Tetracore Energy Surpasses 1 Million Safe Man-Hours Amid Major Expansion

Tetracore Energy Group has surpassed one million cumulative man-hours without a lost-time injury, fatality, permanent disability, restricted work case or occupational illness, marking a major safety milestone for the Nigerian energy company.

The milestone comes as Tetracore expands its operations across gas distribution, compressed natural gas (CNG), AutoGas, power generation and industrial energy infrastructure in Nigeria and other parts of West Africa, including Ghana.

According to the company, the achievement reflects the operational discipline required to execute increasingly complex energy projects while maintaining strong health, safety and environmental standards.

Tetracore’s recent expansion includes commercial power generation and distribution from Phase I of its 100MW Atakobo Independent Power Generation and Distribution System in Ogun State, which currently delivers 20MW through about 80 kilometres of 33kV transmission and distribution infrastructure.

The company has also expanded its CNG infrastructure with new Auto CNG facilities in Ogun and Edo states, while extending its gas infrastructure footprint into Ghana.

Tetracore says its safety systems are supported by internationally recognised standards. Its operations and facilities across Nigeria achieved ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications in May, covering quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management.

Commenting on the milestone, Tetracore Energy Group President and CEO Dr. Olakunle Williams said it demonstrates the collective commitment of employees, contractors, leadership and partners to making safety a fundamental part of the company’s operations.

He said the one million safe man-hours mark is “a milestone, not the finish line,” with the company maintaining its commitment to “Goal Zero” and ensuring workers return home safely every day.

The milestone comes as Tetracore advances further energy projects, including a 60MW gas-fired independent power project in Nasarawa State, which is designed to scale to between 120MW and 150MW.

The company is also developing a 20MW Tier III data centre at the Atakobo Energy Park in partnership with Huawei and Inspirive Technologies.

Tetracore says the achievement reinforces its position that growth and safety must advance together as it expands its energy infrastructure across Nigeria and West Africa.
