German renewable energy firm CleanPower Generation has signed a deal with the government of Guinea Conakry to build two solar plants, each producing 42 megawatts, for a combined capacity of 84 megawatts.
The project, expected to generate 156,000 megawatt-hours annually, will supply half of the electricity needs in Kankan and Siguiri, reaching about one million people. Developed over eight years, the initiative forms part of the Compact for Africa program, launched under Germany’s G20 presidency to boost private investment and sustainable growth across the continent.
