Ghana’s petroleum regulator lauds Sentuo refinery during operational visit.

 

Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has commended Sentuo Oil Refinery for its expanding role in strengthening the country’s downstream petroleum sector and supporting energy security. 

Mr. Tameklo made the remarks on Monday, January 5, when he led a senior management delegation to the Sentuo refinery as part of the regulator’s ongoing industry engagement programme. The visit aimed to deepen collaboration between the NPA and petroleum operators while encouraging sustainable growth across the value chain. 

During the tour, the NPA boss acknowledged Sentuo’s investments in local refining capacity and its contribution to market stability. He urged the company to further enhance local content participation by increasing Ghanaian involvement in procurement, employment and service delivery in line with national policy goals. 

The visit also allowed both sides to discuss regulatory compliance, operational challenges, and opportunities for closer cooperation. Mr. Tameklo reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to working with industry players to promote efficiency, innovation and responsible development in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
