The Minister of Energy, John Jinapor, has assured the public that Ghana is not experiencing load shedding, insisting that the country has sufficient electricity generation capacity to meet current demand.
In a statement shared on Friday, January 30, the minister disclosed that he had met with the leadership of key power sector agencies to assess the state of electricity supply across the country. He noted that Ghana has gone over 10 months without load shedding and is not facing any power generation shortfall.
Mr Jinapor, however, acknowledged reports of intermittent power outages in parts of Accra and Kumasi, explaining that these disruptions are not linked to inadequate generation but stem from operational and technical challenges within the power system.
He said he has directed the relevant agencies to urgently present a clear, time-bound action plan to resolve the outages and stabilise supply in the affected areas.
The minister reaffirmed government’s commitment to delivering reliable and uninterrupted electricity nationwide, assuring Ghanaians that measures are being implemented to address the challenges as swiftly as possible.
