Crude oil production from Ghana’s Jubilee Field increased overall during the first half of 2026, reaching its highest level in June despite fluctuations in monthly output.
Data from the Petroleum Commission showed that production rose from 67,256.32 barrels per day (bpd) in January to 71,987.57 bpd in February. Output subsequently declined to 69,961.94 bpd in March before recovering to 71,151.00 bpd in April.
Production fell again to 68,909.48 bpd in May but rebounded sharply to 76,032.27 bpd in June, representing the highest monthly production recorded during the six-month period.
The improvement in June comes as efforts continue to sustain and increase output from Ghana’s mature oil fields, with Jubilee remaining one of the country’s key producing assets.
Gas Production and Exports
Gas production from the Jubilee Field followed a different trend. Output stood at 196.22 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscf/d) in January before declining to 174.78 MMscf/d in February and 159.04 MMscf/d in March.
Production gradually recovered during the second quarter, rising to 163.44 MMscf/d in April and 175.46 MMscf/d in May before reaching 191.83 MMscf/d in June. Despite the recovery, June production remained slightly below the January level.
Meanwhile, gas flaring increased from 8.48 MMscf/d in January to 12.18 MMscf/d in February before declining in subsequent months to 10.72 MMscf/d in June.
Gas exports to the Ghana National Gas Company (GNGC), however, recorded consistent growth throughout the period, increasing from 108.70 MMscf/d in January to 123.52 MMscf/d in June.
The figures point to stronger crude oil production and rising gas deliveries from the Jubilee Field during the first half of 2026.
