
Preparations for the 9th Ghana Energy Awards are in full swing, marked by the first official sitting of the Awarding Panel on July 15, 2025. This significant event took place at the Awards Secretariat Head Office in SSNIT Emporium, Airport City. The session brought together distinguished members from academia, policy, law, and industry, chaired by Lawyer Kwame Jantuah.
This year’s awards hold special importance as they are the first following a transition in national leadership. Extensive engagements with stakeholders were conducted to understand the evolving governance landscape and sector performance, informing the awards process. Ing. Henry Teinor, Event Director, highlighted the value of these discussions, emphasizing that stakeholder feedback was essential in aligning the awards with current industry realities.
The initial sitting allowed the Panel to review feedback and define planned activities for 2025. Chairman Kwame Jantuah stressed the meeting’s significance in analyzing sectoral shifts to ensure award categories remain relevant. As anticipation builds for the 9th edition, a Media Launch will soon unveil the official theme and award categories, along with the opening of nominations. The Ghana Energy Awards has the backing of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, its allied agencies, and the World Energy Council, Ghana.
