Global energy technology company SLB has announced that its OneSubsea joint venture has been awarded a multi-well engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract by Eni for Phase 3 of the Baleine deepwater project offshore Côte d’Ivoire.
As part of the agreement, OneSubsea will provide subsea production systems for 13 wells to support the next stage of the offshore oil development.
The contract covers the engineering, supply and installation of key subsea equipment, including subsea trees, umbilicals, manifolds, multiphase flowmeters and control systems, as well as commissioning services and life-of-field operational support.
According to SLB, the integrated EPC approach is designed to improve project execution efficiency and help keep the development on schedule.
Commenting on the award, Chief Executive Officer of SLB OneSubsea, Mads Hjelmeland, said the Baleine Phase 3 project combines large-scale development with execution certainty.
He noted that the company would utilise its subsea production technologies and established presence in Côte d’Ivoire to support Eni in delivering the complex deepwater project efficiently while contributing to the sustainable development of the country’s offshore petroleum resources.
SLB added that execution of the contract will be backed by its existing operations and in-country capabilities in Côte d’Ivoire.
