Atuabo Gas Plant to undergo scheduled maintenance from August 16–30

The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has approved Ghana National Gas Company’s request for a scheduled shutdown of the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant from August 16 to 30, 2025.

The suspension of gas supply will enable critical inspections, repairs, and upgrades aimed at improving the plant’s efficiency and reliability. The Ministry says the exercise forms part of government’s commitment to the safe and sustainable operation of national energy infrastructure.

To prevent power disruptions, the Ministry is coordinating with key power sector players to deploy alternative fuel sources throughout the maintenance period. It assured the public of stable electricity supply and pledged to provide regular updates on the progress of the works.
