Tullow Begins Selling Jubilee, TEN Crude to Ghanaian Refineries

Tullow Oil has begun selling crude from its Jubilee and Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) fields to refineries in Ghana, opening a new commercial channel for domestically produced crude and supporting efforts to expand local refining.

The company said its first cargo was sold earlier this year to Sentuo Oil Refinery.

Tullow Chief Financial Officer Richard Miller disclosed the development during a virtual meeting with investors on the company’s half-year results, in response to a question on efforts to have more Jubilee crude refined locally.

Mr Miller described the sale as a significant achievement for Ghana’s oil sector, stressing that the transaction was conducted purely on a commercial basis.

“This is a fantastic achievement looking at what has happened in Ghana’s oil sector over the years,” he said.

He also noted the growing role of Sentuo Oil Refinery in Ghana’s crude market, saying the refinery has become a major buyer of crude from Tullow and other partners operating Ghana’s oil fields.

The development comes as Tullow increases its expected crude liftings for 2026.

Tullow targets 14 cargoes

Tullow expects to lift 14 cargoes in 2026, comprising 11 cargoes from the Jubilee field and three from the TEN fields.

The revised outlook is two Jubilee cargoes higher than the company’s initial guidance issued in November 2025.

Tullow delivered six cargoes in the first half of 2026 and plans to lift a further eight in the second half.

The sale of Ghanaian crude to a local refinery provides an additional domestic outlet for the country’s oil production while strengthening the connection between upstream production and local refining.
