Canadian solar energy company Solar Panda Corporation has entered the Zambian market through the acquisition of VITALITE Zambia Limited, a leading off-grid solar provider. The acquisition adds over 100,000 new customers to Solar Panda’s portfolio and strengthens its presence in Africa.
With Zambia now joining Kenya and Senegal as operational markets, this move forms part of Solar Panda’s broader growth strategy to expand access to clean energy across the continent and reach millions of households by 2030.
For VITALITE Zambia, the integration provides access to capital, infrastructure, and strategic support to rapidly scale operations. VITALITE was the first company in Zambia to introduce Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) solar home systems, focusing on rural electrification.
The acquisition aligns with Solar Panda’s ongoing Series B equity round, aimed at funding international expansion and delivering affordable, renewable energy to underserved communities.
