Puma Energy Africa Executive Pays Courtesy Visit to NPA Chief Executive to Strengthen Industry Partnership

The Head of Puma Energy Africa, Ben Ouattara, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., during a working visit to Ghana.

During the meeting, Mr. Ouattara expressed appreciation to the NPA for its continued cooperation and support, which he said has contributed to the growth of Puma Energy’s operations in Ghana.

He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the regulator as part of efforts to support the continued development of Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

According to Mr. Ouattara, Puma Energy is broadening its presence in strategic business segments where it possesses strong expertise and can contribute more significantly to the country’s economic development.

He also noted that the company is expanding its footprint across the African continent, with Ghana serving as the regional hub for its sub-regional operations.

In his remarks, Mr. Tameklo said the government, under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, is focused on creating a business-friendly environment that enables the private sector to drive economic growth.

He stated that the NPA remains committed to supporting this objective by maintaining an enabling regulatory environment that allows downstream petroleum companies to expand their operations and earn sustainable returns on their investments.

Mr. Tameklo further observed that Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry still faces considerable infrastructure challenges and called for increased private sector investment to help bridge those gaps.

He described Puma Energy as a key stakeholder in the country’s downstream petroleum industry and acknowledged the company’s longstanding contribution to the sector.

He also recognised Puma Energy’s significant role in Ghana’s aviation fuel market and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the company to encourage further investment and business growth.

The Puma Energy delegation also included General Manager of Puma Energy Ghana, Lanzeni Couliba, and Commercial Manager of Puma Energy Ghana, Daniel Reppah.
