The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, has praised the nominees and winners of the 2026 Ghana Downstream Awards for their role in advancing Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
Speaking at the second edition of the Ghana Downstream Awards and Gala Night in Accra, Mr. Tameklo said the achievements of the nominees and award recipients reflected the professionalism, innovation and commitment driving the continued growth of the sector.
He noted that building a resilient downstream petroleum industry would require sustained collaboration, technological advancement and continuous investment in infrastructure and human capital.
According to him, the NPA remains committed to fostering a downstream industry that is competitive, sustainable, investor-friendly and capable of protecting consumers while supporting national economic development.
The awards ceremony, held after the 2026 Ghana International Petroleum Conference (GhIPCon), recognised outstanding organisations and individuals across the downstream petroleum value chain.
Sentuo Oil Refinery received the Refinery Company of the Year award for its contribution to expanding Ghana’s domestic refining capacity and strengthening energy security.
In the transportation category, Duah Boachie Training and Transport Limited was named Emerging Transporter of the Year, while J.K. Horgle Transport & Company Limited won Transporter of the Year for its performance in petroleum logistics.
Matrix Gas Ghana Limited secured the Emerging Company of the Year award, while Juwel Energy Limited was recognised as BIDEC Company of the Year for its performance in the bulk import, distribution and export segment.
Moari Oil Company Limited was honoured as Emerging OMC of the Year, with Star Oil receiving the OMC of the Year award in recognition of its market leadership and operational excellence.
Petroleum Warehousing and Supplies Limited (PWSL) received a Special Recognition Award for its contribution to Ghana’s downstream petroleum industry.
The event also honoured key figures in Ghana’s energy sector. Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, NPA Chief Executive, Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, and former NPA Deputy Chief Executive, Perry Curtis Kwabla Okudzeto each received honorary awards for their contributions to the development of the downstream petroleum sector.
The organisers said the awards continue to promote excellence, innovation and high standards across the industry while encouraging stakeholders to support the sustainable growth of Ghana’s downstream petroleum value chain.
