Norway’s Socialist Party has stepped back from a proposal that could have blocked Equinor’s Hammerfest LNG plant from receiving a planned onshore electricity connection.
The move comes ahead of a parliamentary vote on Thursday, where the opposition sought to revoke the power grid approval. Without the Socialist Party’s backing, the motion is now expected to fail, clearing the way for the LNG project to maintain its energy link.
