The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has entered into six long-term gas agreements with industry partners as part of efforts to increase domestic gas supply, promote industrial growth and strengthen Nigeria’s energy security.
The agreements were signed on Tuesday during the 25th NOG Energy Week held in Abuja and include a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), a Gas Sale Aggregation Agreement (GSAA), a Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) and three Network Entry Agreements.
The agreements comprise an MoU and GSAA with Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL), a GSA with UTM FLNG, as well as Network Entry Agreements with Chevron Nigeria Limited, AGPC and NNPC Exploration & Production Limited (NEPL).
NNPC Limited Group Chief Executive Officer, Bayo Bashir Ojulari, said the agreements support the Federal Government’s gas-led industrialisation strategy and will help improve access to natural gas for domestic users.

According to Mr. Ojulari, natural gas remains a key driver of economic development, offering opportunities for revenue generation, industrial expansion and improved energy security.
He explained that the agreements provide a structured framework to enhance gas availability and strengthen partnerships between NNPC and industry stakeholders.
Mr. Ojulari added that the initiative will support local content development, encourage investment and contribute to Nigeria’s goal of becoming a major industrial economy.
