Kenya, France Sign 11 Agreements on Energy, Trade and Infrastructure

Kenya and France have signed 11 agreements aimed at deepening cooperation in the areas of energy transport digital infrastructure and trade.

The agreements were witnessed by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron at State House in Nairobi following bilateral discussions held ahead of the Africa Forward Summit.

President Ruto stated that Kenya is looking to tap into French expertise in nuclear energy as the country works toward its goal of generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity.

He added that both countries also discussed ways to improve air connectivity in order to strengthen trade tourism and investment opportunities between Kenya and France.

President Macron reaffirmed France’s commitment to expanding investment and partnerships across Africa while also supporting reforms within the international financial system.
