On April 27, 2025, Governor Dikko Umaru Radda unveiled the Katsina State Green Growth Agenda (KAGGA) at a summit in Abuja, Nigeria, aiming to balance economic growth with environmental preservation through policy and infrastructure initiatives. The plan includes a ₦5 billion Green Investment Fund and a $500 million renewable energy partnership with Genesis Energy Group to electrify communities. Supported by stakeholders like the UN’s Amina Mohammed and Nigeria’s Environment Minister Balarabe Abbas Lawal, KAGGA targets climate-smart agriculture, reforestation, and green jobs to address Katsina’s climate vulnerabilities.
