Côte d’Ivoire has awarded Infinity Power two solar PV projects with a combined capacity of 108 MWp under the World Bank’s Scaling Solar competitive tender initiative. The company will develop the 59 MWp Touba and 50 MWp Laboa plants, including 17 km of new transmission lines, to supply power to over 400,000 people and cut more than 60,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. Infinity Power will operate the plants for 25 years before handing them back to the State.
In addition, local developer Tongon Solaire, a subsidiary of EKDS Nouvelle, has announced plans to build a 52 MWp solar PV plant in Mbengué, northern Côte d’Ivoire. The US$60m project, set to run under a 25-year BOOT contract, is expected to reach industrial commissioning by November 2027.
