GNPC and Petroleum Commission Strengthen Partnership with New Agreement

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and the Petroleum Commission (PC) have formalized a new Promotion, Marketing, and Revenue Sharing Agreement focused on the Voltaian Basin Project. This agreement was signed during a meeting at GNPC’s Training Centre in Accra and aims to enhance joint efforts in promoting and marketing 2D seismic and geochemical data collected under GNPC’s Reconnaissance License.

It establishes a framework for sharing revenue generated from future data licensing activities, reflecting both organizations’ commitment to boosting upstream investment in Ghana’s onshore sedimentary basin. Kwame Ntow Amoah, Acting CEO of GNPC, emphasized that this agreement represents a significant advancement in maximizing the value of Ghana’s data assets while fostering transparency and collaboration between the National Oil Company and the regulator.

He urged all stakeholders to remain committed to unlocking the full potential of the Voltaian Basin project. Emeafa Hardcastle, CEO of the PC, hailed the agreement as timely and indicative of both institutions’ dedication to advancing Ghana’s upstream agenda. She expressed confidence in their ongoing collaboration to ensure smooth progress in the industry.
