Every Megawatt Is a Promise to Future Generations” — President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Solar for Industries Project as a major milestone in Ghana’s transition to renewable energy and a key driver of his government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda. Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony in the Dawa Industrial Zone, he said the initiative is designed to guarantee uninterrupted power for industries in Tema, Dawhenya, and the Kpong enclave, supporting manufacturing, exports, and the broader Reset Agenda. President Mahama noted that the project aligns with national environmental programmes such as the Blue Water Guards, the Tree for Life Reforestation Programme, and the Clean Ghana Campaign, adding that every megawatt of clean energy generated represents a commitment to safeguarding the planet for future generations.

The President stressed that the project demonstrates Ghana’s ability to pursue economic growth and environmental protection simultaneously. He described the Solar for Industries Project as more than a power facility, calling it a bold statement of Ghana’s readiness to lead Africa’s next industrial renaissance, one powered by renewable energy, driven by innovation, and rooted in resilience.
