
During a recent working visit to the Bui Power Authority (BPA) in the Bono Region, Energy and Green Transition Minister Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor reaffirmed government’s dedication to a sustainable and reliable energy sector.
The visit formed part of his broader stakeholder engagements across the energy sector, aimed at evaluating strategic energy operations and promoting renewable energy integration.
Minister Jinapor praised BPA for its critical role in ensuring uninterrupted power supply, particularly during recent gas supply upgrades by ENI that could have caused national disruptions.
He emphasized that Bui Power’s operational efficiency significantly supports Ghana’s energy stability and aligns with the country’s long-term vision for green energy transformation.
Highlighting BPA’s solar and hybrid energy initiatives, the Minister commended its leadership for advancing the renewable energy agenda and contributing to reduced dependence on fossil fuels.
The Acting CEO of BPA, Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam, welcomed the Minister’s visit and described it as a sign of strong institutional collaboration and oversight.
Ing. Sam reaffirmed BPA’s commitment to President John Dramani Mahama’s green transition goals, emphasizing that renewable energy investment remains a top priority.
He added that BPA’s efforts are directly aligned with national policy and are crucial to Ghana’s shift towards a cleaner energy mix.
The Bui Power Authority, operator of the Bui Hydroelectric Dam, continues to expand its renewable portfolio, cementing its position as a key player in Ghana’s energy future.
This visit underscores the Ministry’s intent to support strategic institutions like BPA in the ongoing drive for energy sustainability and security.
