Egypt: TotalEnergies, EGAS Enter Offshore Exploration Partnership

French energy giant TotalEnergies and the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly pursue offshore exploration activities in Egypt.

The agreement covers a large offshore block in Egypt’s northwestern waters and sets out a framework for technical collaboration, including early-stage exploration work and subsurface studies to assess the area’s hydrocarbon potential.

Senior Vice President of Exploration at TotalEnergies, Mr. Nicola Mavilla, said the partnership reflects the shared commitment of both parties to deepen cooperation and expand exploration opportunities in Egypt’s offshore sector.

He added that the agreement will support efforts to evaluate the country’s deep offshore resources as Egypt continues to strengthen its oil and gas industry.
