The Electricity Company of Ghana (Electricity Company of Ghana) has explained that the power interruptions experienced in parts of the Greater Accra Region on Sunday were caused by heavy rains that disrupted its distribution network.
According to the utility, the downpour led to technical faults across its infrastructure, resulting in intermittent electricity supply in several affected communities.
In a statement issued on Sunday, March 29, 2026, ECG said its engineers are currently working to locate and fix the faults to restore power as quickly as possible.
The company also advised customers facing outages within their individual premises to contact its Call Centre on 0302611611, visit the nearest ECG office, or reach out through its official social media channels.
ECG apologised for the inconvenience and appealed for patience from customers as restoration works continue.
