Zambia: TAZAMA Declares $6.69 Million Dividend to Government After Strong 2025 Performance

TAZAMA Pipelines Limited has presented a dividend cheque worth K120.4 million (approximately US$6.69 million) to the Government of Zambia following a record financial performance in 2025.

The dividend was presented by TAZAMA Board Chairperson, Professor Ephraim Munshifwa, to Acting Secretary to the Treasury, Mwaka Mukubesa, during a ceremony held at Zambia’s Ministry of Finance and National Planning.

Prof. Munshifwa said the dividend payment reflects TAZAMA’s strong financial performance, sound corporate governance, and commitment to supporting Zambia’s economic development and energy security objectives.

According to him, the company recorded a net profit of K722.3 million in 2025, compared to K635.6 million in 2024.

TAZAMA also achieved the highest fuel throughput in its history, transporting 1,006,995 metric tonnes during the year, up from 747,186 metric tonnes recorded in 2024.

He attributed the improved performance to increased throughput volumes, enhanced operational efficiency, strategic investments in pipeline security, and improved operational uptime.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the government, Mukubesa commended the company’s board and management for their prudent stewardship, noting that the dividend would contribute to strengthening public finances and support national development programmes.

She further praised TAZAMA for successfully implementing the Open Access Policy and introducing the Drag Reducing Agent (DRA), measures she said have enhanced operational efficiency and improved fuel transportation along the Dar es Salaam–Ndola pipeline corridor.

Mukubesa urged other state-owned enterprises to emulate TAZAMA’s strong governance practices, innovation, and operational discipline, describing the company’s performance as a demonstration of how effective management can drive sustainable growth and national development.
