
Tanzania’s Minister for Energy, Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, met officials from France’s Ministry of Finance, the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and engineering company SAGECOM to discuss the second phase of the 100-megawatt (MW) Kishapu Solar Power Project in northwestern Tanzania.
The meeting, held at the Tanzanian Embassy in Paris, focused on advancing the next phase of the solar project in Kishapu District in the Shinyanga Region, according to a statement from Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy.
Hon. Ndejembi thanked the French government and AFD for their continued support for Tanzania’s energy sector, noting that the partnership has contributed to improved access to reliable electricity while supporting the country’s economic and social development.
Chief Executive Officer of AFD, Sandra Kassab, welcomed Tanzania’s progress in implementing energy projects, particularly initiatives aimed at expanding electricity generation and promoting clean energy.
Sandra Kassab reaffirmed AFD’s commitment to working closely with the Tanzanian government to support the successful implementation of the projects and ensure they deliver tangible benefits to citizens.
