Shell projects and technology chief to exit as executive committee shrinks

Shell Plc said on Tuesday that Robin Mooldijk, its president for projects and technology, will step down from his role effective February 28.

The move will reduce Shell’s executive committee to eight members, the company said in a statement.

Mooldijk has overseen Shell’s global portfolio of major projects and technology development during a period of strategic repositioning by the energy major.

Shell did not announce an immediate successor or provide further details on the reasons for his departure.

The company said the leadership change will not affect its financial reporting structure.

Shell will continue to report its results across six segments: Integrated Gas, Upstream, Marketing, Chemicals and Products, Renewables and Energy Solutions, and Corporate.

The announcement was made by the London-listed energy group as it continues to streamline its operations and management structure.

Shell has in recent years focused on cost discipline and capital efficiency while balancing investments in traditional energy and lower-carbon businesses.

The company did not indicate that the change would have any impact on ongoing projects or technology programmes.

Shares in Shell were little changed following the announcement.
