In the first pricing window of July 2025, fuel prices have experienced notable changes, with petrol prices seeing a slight decrease and diesel prices on the rise. Market leader GOIL has reduced the price of a litre of petrol from GH₵12.38 to GH₵12.07, while simultaneously increasing the price of diesel from GH₵12.88 to GH₵13.20.
Shell has also adjusted its prices, raising the cost of petrol to GH₵12.08 from GH₵11.98 and increasing diesel prices from GH₵12.85 to GH₵13.25. Meanwhile, PETROSOL is selling petrol at GH₵11.98 per litre, with diesel priced at GH₵13.98.
Industry experts had anticipated a rise in fuel prices at the pump due to increasing global oil prices; however, recent trends show a decrease in oil prices on the global market, attributed to easing tensions in the Middle East. Despite this temporary relief, analysts predict that the next pricing window may see an increase due to the implementation of the GH₵1 Energy Sector Levy.
As fuel prices fluctuate, consumers are urged to stay informed about potential changes in the coming weeks, particularly with the anticipated levy affecting overall costs. The current adjustments reflect the dynamic nature of the fuel market amid global economic conditions.
