NPA Holds Exclusive Breakfast Meeting with Downstream Petroleum Industry CEOs In Accra

Ghana’s petroleum downstream regulator, the National Petroleum Authority, has hosted chief executives from the country’s downstream petroleum industry at a closed-door breakfast meeting in Accra aimed at strengthening stakeholder engagement and supporting industry growth.

The meeting focused on improving collaboration within the sector, enhancing the regulatory environment, and creating networking opportunities to promote strategic development across the petroleum industry.

Ghana’s Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, and Deputy Minister, Hon. Richard Gyan-Mensah, were among government officials who participated in the engagement.

The discussions were led by the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo, alongside Deputy Chief Executive Dr. Sheila Addo and other members of the Authority’s Executive Committee.

Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Tameklo acknowledged that ongoing geopolitical tensions and conflicts in different parts of the world continue to place pressure on global energy markets.

He, however, assured industry stakeholders that Ghana remains confident in its petroleum pricing framework and fuel supply security measures.

According to him, recent government interventions aimed at cushioning consumers against rising fuel prices were carefully designed with consideration for the sustainability of businesses operating within the sector.

For his part, Hon. Dr. Jinapor reaffirmed government’s commitment to maintaining a stable and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to support economic activity and national growth.

The meeting ended with stakeholders agreeing on a number of actions intended to strengthen and sustain Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
