NPA Expands Fuel Safety and Consumer Awareness Campaign in Volta and Ashanti Regions

National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has stepped up its petroleum safety and consumer education campaign through a series of public engagement activities held across the Volta and Ashanti regions.

The sensitisation exercise, spearheaded by the Authority’s Consumer Services Directorate, targeted markets, transport terminals, tertiary institutions, and women’s groups to educate the public on petroleum safety, fuel quality assurance, LPG handling, consumer rights, and complaint reporting procedures.

The campaign also highlighted the dangers associated with siphoning fuel from accident scenes involving Bulk Road Vehicles.

Speaking during the outreach programme, Mrs. Eunice Budu-Nyarko advised motorists and fuel consumers to remain alert when buying fuel by checking the type of product dispensed, monitoring pump screens, and requesting receipts after every transaction.

In the Volta Region, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) team visited Ho Market and Lorry Park, Ho Technical University, Ho Nursing Training College, and women’s groups in Hohoe.

The Ashanti Regional exercise covered Bantama Market, Fomena Nursing Training College, Kumasi Technical University, and the Tepa Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Anyinasuo Campus.

Technical sessions during the campaign were led by Ing. Johnson Gbagbo Jnr and Maureen Adwoa Duori, with support from regional managers and staff of the Authority.
