Morocco shares renewable energy expertise with African partners

Morocco has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing renewable energy and electrification across Africa. Speaking at the opening of the African Confederation of Electricity, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency exhibition, Moroccan official Hejira highlighted the country’s dedication to practical, results-oriented cooperation with African partners.

He said the initiative reflects King Mohammed VI’s vision of South-South cooperation, anchored in shared interests, solidarity, and a collective push for sustainable development.

On the continent’s energy future, Hejira described universal electricity access as an urgent priority, stressing that energy is not only essential to daily life but also a cornerstone of economic transformation.

He emphasised that Africa has the natural and technical capacity to achieve self-sufficiency and even generate surplus for export, positioning energy as a pillar of national sovereignty and long-term growth.
