At the Government Accountability Series on July 16, 2025, Ghana’s Energy and Green Transition Minister, Hon. John Jinapor, commended BOST’s leadership for driving reforms that are transforming the energy sector.
He praised Managing Director, Afetsi Awoonor, and his deputy for enhancing operational efficiency at the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST), Ghana’s main fuel logistics institution.
Hon. Jinapor revealed plans to extend a fuel pipeline from Ghana to Burkina Faso, positioning Ghana as a petroleum hub for the landlocked neighbour.
He highlighted BOST’s improved management of strategic fuel reserves as a critical factor in strengthening Ghana’s energy security and regional influence.
Reviewing the past seven months, the minister cited three major energy sector gains: stable power supply, increased fuel reserves, and ongoing anti-corruption reforms.
Hon. Jinapor emphasized that consistent electricity delivery marks a turning point in energy reliability for households and industries.
He also noted that the government’s deliberate push to boost petroleum reserves is already delivering measurable benefits.
A new transparency initiative has been launched to clean up inefficiencies and tackle corruption across the energy sector.
Calling for unity, Jinapor urged all stakeholders to support the reforms and maintain momentum for a resilient energy future.
He concluded with optimism, stating that Ghana is on track to become both a national energy success and a regional petroleum hub.
