Ghana Earns $370.6 Million from Crude Oil in First Half of 2025

Ghana generated $370.622 million in petroleum revenues during the first half of 2025, according to the First-Half Petroleum Semi-Annual Report.

A total of $218.62 million was earned from crude oil liftings between January and March 2025. Additionally, $148.75 million was received in corporate taxes from major upstream operators, including Kosmos Energy, Tullow Oil, ENI Ghana, Vitol, and Petro SA.

Other revenue streams included $863,045 from surface rentals and $2.376 million in income from the Petroleum Holding Fund.

In terms of investments, the Ghana Petroleum Funds recorded an estimated $1.424 billion in returns. This comprises:

Ghana Heritage Fund: $1.301 billion

Ghana Stabilisation Fund: $122.9 million

The report highlights Ghana’s continued reliance on petroleum revenues and underscores the importance of prudent management of these funds to support economic stability and long-term development goals.
