The Energy Personalities Outreach Program, or EPOP, visited Chemu Senior High School in Tema on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025, inspiring over 800 students on character, values, and career opportunities in Ghana’s energy sector. Powered by the Energy Media Group, organizers of the Ghana Energy Awards, EPOP connects top energy leaders with students to share insights that shape the country’s energy future.
The 2025 edition, themed “Impacting the Next Generation Today,” featured the 2024 Female Energy Personality of the Year, Madam Nana Akua Agyei, and the 2024 Male Energy Personality of the Year, Mr. Kojo Aduhene. Madam Agyei urged students to choose principle over popularity, saying true success is built on integrity. Mr. Aduhene shared his journey of perseverance and highlighted opportunities in law, nursing, economics, and emerging energy fields like solar, nuclear, and hydrogen, showing that the sector offers room for everyone. He also offered to take ten students from Chemu Senior High on an internship at his firm, giving them hands-on experience in the energy industry.
Students engaged in a lively Q&A session on career pathways and energy innovations. Now in its seventh edition, EPOP has visited schools across Ghana, including Achimota School, West Africa Senior High School, Nungua Senior High School, St. Mary’s Senior High School, Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, and Wesley Grammar, mentoring young minds and encouraging STEM education to build Ghana’s next generation of energy leaders.
