Engineer Emmanuel Tetteh Akini, the Director of Operations at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), announced on May 5, 2025, that the Volta Region has experienced a stable power supply recently. During an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, he noted that while parts of Accra and other regions face low voltage and intermittent outages, the overall power distribution in the Volta Region has significantly improved. Akini explained that ECG conducted checks at various substations, confirming that voltage levels are now within acceptable limits. He attributed this stability to maintenance work carried out by GRIDCo in collaboration with ECG in the Volta and North Volta areas. The director encouraged residents to report any localized issues so they can be addressed promptly. He assured the public of ECG’s commitment to providing reliable electricity service throughout its operational areas. Akini’s comments come amid ongoing challenges with power supply in other parts of the country, highlighting a regional disparity in service reliability. This situation emphasizes the importance of proactive maintenance and monitoring of electrical infrastructure.
