Energy Commission Appoints Adwoa Serwa Bondzie as Acting Executive Secretary

The Energy Commission has appointed Adwoa Serwa Bondzie as its Acting Executive Secretary.

She succeeds Ing Mrs Eunice Biritwum, who is reported to have exited the role ahead of her expected retirement later this year.

Ms Bondzie is an executive with more than 15 years of experience spanning business development, energy transition and strategic management. She is known for championing innovation and sustainability, leading initiatives that strengthened institutional performance and enhanced public service delivery. Her strength in linking technical operations with commercial strategy has driven efficiency, profitability and long term value creation.

During her time at BOST Energies formerly known as Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), she established the company’s first Trading Desk, introducing a fuel trading system that generated 20 million dollars in profit within two years and improved operational performance. She also spearheaded the expansion of Ghana’s strategic petroleum reserves from four to 12 weeks between 2014 and 2016, boosting national energy security and earning the BOST Leadership and Dedication Award in 2015.

Earlier, she managed multi million dollar engineering projects at TechInsights Canada, delivering them on schedule and to high standards for international clients.

Ms Bondzie holds a Master of Science in Public Policy from the University of Bath, an MBA in International Business and Strategy from Henley Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Information and Communication Technology from GIMPA, and a Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Algonquin College.

She is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions, aligning corporate strategies with national development priorities to promote economic growth and environmental sustainability. She also mentors young professionals and advocates for greater participation of women in technology and the energy sector.
