COMAC Addresses Recent Member Self-Suspension, Reaffirms Commitment to Collective Industry Goals

The Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC) has issued a statement in response to the recent self-suspension of one of its member companies.

COMAC clarifies that the decision was taken independently by the member concerned, underscoring the autonomy that individual members retain within the Chamber. The organisation respects the right of each member to make decisions in line with their corporate interests and governance structures.

Notwithstanding this development, COMAC remains resolute in its commitment to advancing the collective interests of its members and the broader downstream petroleum sector. The Chamber continues to prioritise consumer protection, policy coherence, and the promotion of sustainable growth within the oil marketing industry for the benefit of the Ghanaian public.

COMAC further emphasises its commitment to open dialogue and the value of diverse perspectives among its membership. In this regard, the Chamber will sustain constructive engagement with industry regulators and key stakeholders to address emerging challenges and support effective policy implementation.

The Chamber reassures the public and its stakeholders of its adherence to its core principles of fairness, inclusivity, and transparency, which will continue to guide all its operations and engagements.
