Bui Power Authority has introduced a new scholarship programme aimed at supporting 111 academically gifted but financially challenged students across Ghana.
The initiative forms part of the Authority’s broader community development efforts and is designed to help talented students continue their education without financial barriers limiting their potential.
Under the programme, beneficiaries will receive educational assistance covering tuition, learning materials, and mentorship support to help them excel academically and professionally.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Charles Tuffour said the Authority remains committed to investing in the development of future leaders across the country.
According to him, the scholarship programme reflects Bui Power Authority’s belief that access to education can transform lives and contribute significantly to national development.
Mr. Tuffour explained that the initiative is intended not only to support students financially but also to invest in the human capital needed to drive Ghana’s long-term growth and progress.
The selection process targeted students from underserved communities within and beyond the Authority’s operational areas, with candidates assessed based on academic excellence, financial need, and resilience.
Education stakeholders and community leaders who attended the launch praised Bui Power Authority for expanding its impact beyond energy generation into social and educational development.
The Authority, which operates Ghana’s second-largest hydroelectric power facility on the Black Volta River, has in recent years intensified its corporate social responsibility initiatives in areas including education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.
