The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has announced a nationwide power outage scheduled for Sunday, July 13. The disruption, he explained, is due to planned maintenance by gas supplier ENI, which will temporarily shut down its valves to allow for critical rehabilitation works.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of the 161kV Anwomaso–Kumasi transmission line on Monday, July 8, the Minister said the shutdown is expected to increase gas production to 270 million standard cubic feet per day. He described the move as a strategic effort to stabilise Ghana’s power supply and strengthen the country’s energy infrastructure.
