Karpowership Ghana Company Limited has organised an exclusive tour of its powership facility for a delegation of journalists, providing firsthand insight into its operations and contribution to Ghana’s energy sector.
The engagement brought together media professionals from print, radio, television, and digital platforms as part of efforts to promote transparency, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and improve public understanding of power generation in the country.
During the visit, participants were taken through key operational processes, including fuel intake, electricity generation, and the transmission of power into the national grid.
The tour also created an opportunity for journalists to interact directly with engineers and technical personnel, offering deeper insight into how the facility maintains stable and efficient power supply.
Communications Manager Sandra Amarquaye stated that the initiative is aimed at building trust through openness and ensuring accurate reporting on the company’s activities within the power sector.
She emphasised that giving the media direct access to operations helps foster informed discussions around energy reliability and sustainability.
Project Manager Michelle Hazel highlighted the operational standards behind the facility’s performance, noting that the team works continuously to deliver consistent and efficient electricity.
She added that the tour showcases the level of precision, safety, and commitment required to sustain power supply to homes and businesses.
Also speaking, Editor in Chief of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and General Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association, Mr. Dominic Hlordzi, said the visit offered valuable insight into the company’s operations and reinforced its role in supporting reliable electricity supply.
The tour further provided a platform to address questions on efficiency, environmental impact, and the company’s long term plans within Ghana’s energy landscape.
