GOIL PLC Explores LPG Storage and EV Charging Projects with JETRO

Ghana’s indigenous oil marketing company, GOIL PLC, has hosted a three member delegation from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) at its head office in Accra to explore opportunities for collaboration in energy infrastructure development.

The delegation, led by JETRO Director General Mr Tsubasa Nakagawa, engaged GOIL management in discussions focused on developing liquefied petroleum gas storage facilities and rolling out electric vehicle charging points across GOIL’s nationwide service station network.

Welcoming the delegation, the Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of GOIL PLC, Mr Edward Abambire Bawa, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to infrastructure investments that promote sustainability, quality service delivery, and value for consumers. He emphasized that strategic international partnerships remain essential to supporting Ghana’s transition toward cleaner and more efficient energy solutions.

JETRO, a Japanese government related organization, promotes trade and investment between Japan and global markets. The organization supports Japanese companies pursuing international partnerships and facilitates foreign direct investment, technology transfer, and industrial cooperation across sectors including energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.

The engagement underscores growing interest in modernizing Ghana’s energy infrastructure and highlights potential collaboration between Japanese firms and GOIL to strengthen energy security and advance sustainable mobility initiatives.
