WAPCo successfully completes maintenance works, resumes gas transportation

The West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) has successfully completed critical maintenance on its pipeline system, ensuring the safe resumption of gas transportation services across Ghana, Togo, and Benin. The four-week project involved offshore pipeline cleaning, subsea valve replacements, and key inspections across multiple locations, including Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria.

In a statement, WAPCo’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, Dr. Isaac Adjei Doku, confirmed that despite the complexities of the operation, the maintenance was completed ahead of schedule with remarkable efficiency and safety. The project required a temporary shutdown of pipeline laterals in Cotonou, Lomé, and Tema, but services have now been fully restored.
