The European Union (EU) has awarded €1.5 million to support the Center of Excellence for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CEO) in Oyo, Republic of Congo. This funding is part of a €6 million regional energy program aimed at advancing renewable energy and energy efficiency across Central Africa.
The Centre of Excellence is mentoring young researchers under UN supervision and is implementing a five-year project to strengthen national energy institutions, provide professional training, and fund rural renewable energy initiatives.
These efforts have already led to tangible results, including the development of a biogas digester.
