Energy Minister Applauds Turkish Firm’s Commitment to Local Solar Production

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr.John Abdulai Jinapor, has welcomed the commitment of Turkish company Synergy Co. Ltd. to invest in Ghana’s renewable energy sector. At a meeting held on Tuesday, March 11, Synergy Co. Ltd., which specializes in solar and smart meter technologies, expressed its readiness to establish a manufacturing plant in Ghana. With nearly five decades of experience in the energy sector, the company aims to produce up to 12 million advanced electrical meters annually, equipped with anti-tampering features to curb energy losses and enhance efficiency in the electricity distribution network.

Beyond manufacturing, Synergy Co. Ltd. proposed the creation of a training school to equip Ghanaians with skills in solar panel and meter production, fostering local capacity and employment opportunities. The company also called for government support in integrating its products into the Ghanaian market. Minister Jinapor lauded the initiative, emphasizing the government’s commitment to local content development and the country’s green transition. He assured the company of the Ministry’s collaboration to ensure the successful execution of their plans, reinforcing Ghana’s commitment to energy sustainability and economic growth.
